The Ashford Co-operative Society was based at the Old Station Yard in Ashford, Kent in the early 1900’s. Like other Co-op’s they supplied coal to local workers in the area. In 1900 the Co-operative hired three wagons from the Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon Company on a 3 year lease. Little more is known but they did sign up for the RCH Commuted Scheme in 1926 and were listed in the Coal Trades Directory in 1938. A photograph of one of the wagons was recently published in the SECR Soc Modellers Gazette. ERA’s: 2 and 3
