A Wagon Yard Exclusive – Produced by The Wagon Yard in a livery for Chislet Colliery. Chislet Colliery was one of the four collieries which made up the Kent Coalfield. The land near Chislet was leased in 1911 and explorations began. Progress was slow but by 1915 a reliable supply of coal was discovered. The colliery experienced a rocky road with strikes and the World Wars affecting supply but the colliery continued to operate until 1968, proudcing finest Kent Coal. ERA: 2 & 3. Our exclusive Chislet wagon is produced using an Oxford Rail body and chassis.
