Gloucester Gas Light Co (No. 37) – 7 plank N gauge

Limited edition 7 plank wagon made by Dapol for B R Modelling in 2004, 500 pristine wagons were produced this being running no. 37, a second model bearing running no. 51 was released at the same time.  The Gas Works were in operation from the early to mid 1900’s and were located at Hempstead, Gloucestershire. Although originally the works coal was brought in on the Gloucester & Sharpness Ship Canal which was close by in later years the Gas works had its own sidings off the Midland Railways New Docks branch line. The coal came from various collieries including Thorncliffe, Elsecar, Barnsley Main, Tankersley and more. Wagon no. 37 was made by the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in 1924 as part of an order of 20 wagons numbered from 18 – 37. ERA’s: 2 and 3. Wagon is in excellent, like new condition with all couplings and buffers intact. The box is in good condition with some wear to sleeve.
