Limited edition wagon produced by Dapol for Modellbahn Union. 102 pristine wagons this being no. 9 of 102. The Highley Mining Company commenced trading in the late 1800’s, the companies mine held a significant position being located above Highley Station on the Severn Valley Railway which formed part of the original Great Western line from Kidderminster to Wellington. A smaller subsidiary colliery was located at Kinlet. The mines produced household and manufacturing coals and supplied numerous local towns plus a number of larger individual customers such as the the Salt Union at Bromsgrove and South Wales & Cannock Chase Coal co. The company was still trading in 1945 and employed over 851 employees. The company is recorded as hiring and purchasing wagons from the Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon Company. ERA’s: 2 and 3
