Hoveringham Gravel Ltd established its quarry at Hoveringham, Nottinghamshire in 1939. At one time it was the biggest quarry in Britain. In 1965 mammoth remains were found at the works and it inspired the company to adopt a new mammoth logo in honour of the discovery. The company was highly successful and in 1982 was bought by Tarmac. This wagon is a representation of what the companies hopper wagons could of looked like. ERA’s: 5, 6 and 7
