Limited edition wagon produced by Dapol and commissioned by West Wales Wagon Works in 2007. Limited edition of 110 pristine wagons, this being no. 25. Isaiah Gadd originally from Gloucestershire was a coal merchant in the the late 1800’s. He moved to Wokingham, Berkshire and purchased Watts & Cook in 1882 renaming the firm Isaiah Gadd & Co. The business flourished at its premises in Station Road until the firm ceased trading in 1915 after Isaiah’s death two years previously. In 1888 Gadd ordered two 8 ton wagons from the Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon Co one of which was no. 29 modelled here. Over the next 17 years he bought two more 8 ton wagons in 1889, three 10 ton wagons with a different livery in 1897 and finally in 1906 three more 10 ton wagons again with a different livery. In 1910 Gadd went to a different wagon builder, Hurst, Nelson and bought a 6 plank wagon. This wagon saw a change from Gadds normal black with white lettering liveries to a grey body with white lettering and black shading. ERA: 2. Wagon is in excellent condition with all buffers and couplings intact. Original box is in very good condition.
