Limited edition 5 plank private owner wagon commissioned by Warley MRC for their 2019 exhibition and made by Peco. (NR-P989) Joseph Jones was a coal merchant based at Malvern trading from 1896. Records indicate Joseph ran the business up until his death in 1913, at some point in the following years prior to 1921 the business was sold to a competitor but trade was continued under the Jones name. The wagon livery modelled here was first used on a replacement for the companies original wagon purchased in 1897. Made by the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in 1915 and registered on the Midland Railway, the wagon was numbered no. 15 as per the original. Why Warley chose running no. 40 for their model is unclear. ERA: 2. Wagon is in excellent like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact. In original box which is in very good condition.
