John Stephens, Son & Co – 7 plank OO

Limited edition 7 plank wagon commissioned by Antics and made by Dapol in 2006. Limited edition of 250 pristine wagons, certificate included. John Stephens founded his vinegar and pickle factory in Gloucester in 1881 and the business was still operational in 1932. No information on when trading ceased is currently available. The company had two private owner wagons which were thought to be used to bring coal to the factory. The wagon modelled here was part of an order of two 10 ton wagons made in 1901 by the Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon Co. The wagons cost £58, a repair contract was taken out at the same time and records show it was renewed in 1908. ERA: 2 and 3. Wagon is in excellent, like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact. Box is in very good condition.
