Lancashire Foundry Coke Co – 7 plank N gauge

£25.95

Limited edition wagon commissioned by Pennine wagons and made by Dapol in 2005. Lancashire Foundry Coke Co Ltd was founded in 1929 by Hargreaves Collieries Ltd. Hargreaves operated 22 pits in the northern part of the Lancashire coal fields. Lancashire Foundry Coke was formed to bring together the operations of three of the collieries owned by Hargreaves – Moorfield Colliery, Accrington and Altham Colliery. The company would supply coke to local foundries and industries within the local area, the coke was of better quality and in high demand. There is little available detail about the wagons used but an image of a wagon in a yard at Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire exists showing the livery modelled here. ERA: 3. Wagon in fantastic like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact, box in excellent condition.
