Marcroft Wagons Ltd – 7 plank OO
Special edition wagon produced for the Bachmann Collectors Club in 2002. Ernest Marcroft was a wagon builder and repairer based at Radstock in the GWR sidings in the early 1890’s. There were three other wagon repairers in the area but it was Marcroft’s business which flourished and ultimately he would buy out some of his competitors. By 1932 Marcroft Wagons had depots at Cardiff, Swansea, Coalville, Radstock, Bath, Frome, Bristol, Newton Abbot, Lydney, Burry Port, Old Oak Common, Sheffield and Crigglestone. The company survives to this day although with a number of name changes through the years, workshops still operate at Stoke-on-Trent and Swansea. ERA: 2 and 3. This model is in superb, like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact. Box is in excellent condition.
