Description

Special edition wagon commissioned by Pennine Wagons and made by Peco in Construction of the Manchester Ship Canal started in 1887, the canal was designed as an economical way for Manchesters manufacturers and businesses to transprt their goods. The Manchester Ship Canal Railway ran alongside the canal and had connections to the L&Y, the L&NWR and the CLC offering businesses links to customers in the north and south of the country. The MSC Railway had its own fleet of brake vans which worked with the goods wagons and these came in to operation in the early 1900’s. ERA: 2
