Limited edition private owner plank wagon commissioned by Armstrong 440 in 2007 and made by Dapol. Limited edition certificate included no. 73 of 112.
S. V. (Stanley Victor) Lancey began trading in coal in 1923, his original business was a post office and stationary shop in Bitterne Park, Southampton. He ordered 24 new wagons from the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company that same year and the order was completed in 1924. The livery was unusual and striking due to the rich royal blue body colour and the wagons were registered with the Southern Railway. Little information exists as to where Lancey traded coal but he was still registered as coal merchant in the Colliery Year book of 1946. ERA: 3. Model is in superb, like new condition with all couplings and buffers intact. Box and sleeve in very good condition.
