Samuel Jefferies – 7 plank wagon N gauge

Limited edition 7 plank private owner wagon made by Dapol for Antics in 2005. Limited edition of 250, certificate included. Samuel Jefferies was a coal merchant and brick makers based at works in Dudbridge and Stroud. An advertisement from 1876 show’s the company offering wholesale and retail sales of house and steam coals from Leicester, Derby, Staffordshire, the Forest of Dean and Wales. Also that Jefferies is a ‘Manufacturer of every description of common and pressed red building bricks’. Other products listed include glazed sewerage pipes, chimney pots, fire bricks and flooring squares. The wagon  modelled here was originally made by the Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon Company in 1901 but it was photographed in 1926 after being rebuilt and repainted. The wagon was registered with the GWR. ERA: 2 and 3. Wagon is in excellent like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact, box in very good condition
