The Purified Flock & Bedding Co Ltd – 7 plank OO
Limited edition 7 plank wagon commissioned by Antics and made by Dapol in 2005. Limited edition of 250 pristine wagons. The Purified Flock & Bedding Company Ltd commenced business in 1893 and was based at Spring Mills, Nailsworth Gloucestershire. The company produced purified flock by shredding rags, sterilising them and fluffing them up for use as fillings in mattresses at their mill on the Avening Stream. The business traded until 1970. The wagon modelled here was acquired from the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Co in 1912 and was registered with the Midland Railway, a company valuation in 1919 listed among it’s assets a single railway wagon valued at £100. This record indicates that no.20 was the companies only wagon. ERA: 2 and 3. Wagon is in excellent, like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact. Box in very good condition.
