ERA 2, ERA 3
Limited edition 7 plank wagon commissioned by Swansea MRG and made by Dapol in 2020. Limited edition certificate included no. 13 of 113 pristine wagons produced. The Swansea & District Railway Men’s Direct Coal Association had a similar set up to The Great Western Railwaymen’s Coal Association with their wagons transporting coal from Norths Navigation’s Maesteg Deep Colliery at Maesteg to Swansea. At Swansea the coal would be distributed to the members of the association which was still operating in 1933. This particular wagon was built by the Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon Company in 1907, it was one of two wagons taken on deferred payment with a repair contract also with Gloucester. The wagon was registered with GWR. In the photograph taken by Gloucester after the wagon’s completion the livery is given as chocolate with white writing, shaded black. The black shading is missing from the model and this may be as the font was much clearer without the shading. ERA: 2 and 3. Wagon is in excellent, like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact.Box also in excellent condition.
