Limited edition 5 plank wagon produced by Dapol for Buffers Model Railways. Limited edition of 120 pristine models, certificate included no. 78 of 120. The L&SWR branch line to Chard opened in 1863 and the B&ER line followed in 1866 along the old canal route of Ilminster to Taunton. William Edward Turner inherited his fathers coal business in 1894. By 1914 Kelly’s directory lists the company as corn dealers rather than coal merchants. The wagon modelled here is shown in a photograph taken circa 1900 in GWR yard (believed to be at Chard), the wagons themselves are dated some 20 years previously. ERA: 2. Wagon is in excellent, like new condition with all couplings and buffers intact, box in very good condition.
