William Lee, Son & Co – vent van OO



Limited edition ventilated van commissioned by Wessex Wagons and made by Dapol in 2012. Limited edition of 159, certificate included no. 85. William Lee took ownership of the Portland Cement Works in Halling, Kent in 1852. The pits themselves straddled two parishes Halling and Snodland. Originally the works only produced lime but diversified into Portland cement in 1854. The business flourished and Lee welcomed his son-in-law and grandson as partners. The family sold the business to B.P.C.M (British Portland Cement Manufactures Ltd) in 1912. This wagon is a representation of a van the company could of used. ERA’s: 1 and 2. Wagon is in superb like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact. Original box in very good condition.
