Writhlington Colliery – 6 plank N Gauge

Limited edition 6 plank wagon in the livery of Writhlington Colliery commissioned by Buffers in 2005. 500 pristine wagons were made by Graham Farish (373-175Y). The wagon is listed as a 7 plank on the box but it was made using the 6 plank model inherited from the original Graham Farish factory. Writhlington Colliery (made up of Upper and Lower Writhlington) was part of a group of collieries in the Somerset coalfield run by different companies but effectively operated by the same people. Writhlington was one of the longest running pits in the area, in operation for some 200 years up until 1973. Combined the group of collieries had in the region of 400 plank wagons and numerous HHA hopper wagons. ERA: 2 and 3. Wagon is in excellent like new condition with all buffers and couplings intact, box in very good condition.
